Dr. Joleen A. Willis and Family

West Side's Pastor,

Dr. Joleen A. Willis

SPECIAL NOTICE   Pastor Joleen's Ordination

Randy and I announce our upcoming Ordinations at Annual Conference, Saturday, June 11, 2011.

This year will be an intense year with basic paperwork to complete, participating in several gatherings: meetings with clergy mentor, meetings with peer group, two overnight retreats, an all-day seminar, and a 4-day visit to the General Board of Global Ministries. The most challenging work will be the written work in preparation for interviews with the Board of Ordained Ministry (due Jan 13, 2011). We must research and write responses to Theology questions found in the Discipline, prepare a Life Issues paper based on a question in the Discipline, carry out an Ordination Project in the local church and prepare a 15-minute multimedia presentation and a 3-page reflection paper, and prepare and record a worship service based upon an assigned text.

Thank you for your prayers and support throughout this year. I will be dedicating Mondays to working on these projects. This work will be formational in my life and therefore will contribute to my leadership in making disciples of Jesus Christ at WSUMC. I will be available for emergencies. When I am out of town, Rev. Rodger Gorton, Minister of Visitation, is available.
